I haven't listened to a lot of the new Young Thug stuff, not because I wasn't into it but more because He puts out so much music I just needed a little break. An EP, with Carnage none the less seemed like the perfect reintroduction. On the opener Thugger comes in fists flying with one of his most full voice performances in awhile and in a word it's sublime. Carnage is not a household name, but his trap beats have garnered some attention and because Young Thug can work over any damn beat put in front of him it seems like a match made in heaven. This was never going to be more than a side project for Young Thug but for Carnage it meant having one of the most popular rappers in the game pushing his beats, and in all honesty making them better. Thug is just so fucking nimble, he is able to change his voice to fit any song and even change his delivery mid track without missing a beat. "Liger" has a really rich beat but wow does Young Thug make the track soar. You think you are getting one type of Young Thug at the beginning a more laid back chilled version but almost mid verse He flips his style to a turnt up yell. The line "I Bought a Rollie, but I coulda bought a Viper/ Everybody got tigers, so I wanna go get a Liger" may seem basic but it is so Young Thug; He's different He knows it and you should too.

On "10,000 Slimes" we get some of the most frantic delivery and the word count on this track has got to be out of control like Thug can't fit enough words in. The synths on "10,000 Slimes" are so malleable that even the insane delivery from Young Thug works a real credit to Carnage's production.  "Don't Call Me" really has the most interesting production though with an almost electropop beat coming in at the end. Carnage clearly has some dance roots and those come through, but Thug gives it a more gritty vibe really elevating the beats. It is not a perfect EP, some of the stuff feels clunky and the last track deserves more than Thug gives it, but all in all it works really well. With the reception this record has gotten we might hear more from Carnage and Thug, one can only hope.
