Bebe Rexha - All Your Fault: Pt. 2 EP

Well for better or worse Bebe Rexha followed up this years earlier EP with a second one, leaving it unclear if this was supposed to be a full album or what. This is the "harder" of the two record with features from Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz. The albums opener makes a statement with Gucci and 2 Chainz on the track, but the beat is so weak that not even the superstars can save it. Rexha sings like she is delivering some of the hottest hip hop shit of 2017 but it sounds absolutely terrible. I understand she may be ok singing a hook, but she brings absolutely nothing to this song at all. With an opener like that you would expect her to hang tight with the trap sounds over the album, but fear not she manages to make pop and country sound bad on this EP as well. On "I Got Time", which somehow this song is about the opposite of, is one of the only featureless tracks on this EP which is to the detriment of the song. However Bebe Rexha doesn't do much to build up her features either, just sort of leaving them out to dry on weak as fuck tracks. Lil Wayne sounds absolutely awful on "The Way I Are (Dance with Somebody)" I mean really one of his worst features to date and Bebe Rexha does nothing to help him. Each and every track feels so uninspired and so paint by numbers that you can never buy in.
"(Not) The One" is the one track that is moderately passable with a tropical house beat and just Bebe Rexha. When she is coupled with a rapper she tries so hard to be extra hip hop and it never works, she ends up sounding foolish and dragging the rapper down with her. Just when you thought this album couldn't possibly sink any lower in terms of pandering the last track features Florida fucking Georgia Line. Listen I get trying to cast a wide net, but these are two artists that do not belong together at all. As a Florida Georgia Line song it would be fine, perfectly sweet and have zero need for Bebe Rexha in it. Shoehorning this nonsense into this album is ridiculous. I hated the first EP in this series and thought perhaps she would pull it around on the second one, but if her career continues down this basic pandering bullshit the only place we'll be seeing her is on Instagram or at a Kylie Jenner look-a-like contest.
