I've been a pretty large critic of Future's most recent releases. The bloom was more than off the rose for Future's style and the idea that his releases are still some of the most anticipated in the world becomes more and more untrue. The thing with Future is that as his song writing has improved his delivery just has not. We are still hearing is super heavy auto tuned mushmouth style and it's honestly so played. This album is also 20 tracks long, a trend in hip hop that is starting to really get fucking annoying. Drake was the first to find the cracks in the streaming system and how to boost those numbers as high as possible, but now everyone is following suit. Is there any reason for this record to be 20 tracks? Absolutely not. So many of them sound the same, so many of them have the same message and for the most part make the same statements over and over again. People can't fuck with his riches, got it. People don't know the pain He's been through, got it. People can never know how hard these streets are, ok. All of these ideas are rehashed and rewarmed over and over again on Future Hndrxx Presents: The WIZRD, very little feels new or even like some of the classics that Future has been a part of "Crushed Up" should be the song that blasts Future into the stratosphere, because it ticks all the boxes of a good Future song, but that is where the real problem lies, He's simply out of fucking ideas.

The lack of features on this album also puts it at a severe disadvantage. You are forced to be with Future and Future alone for so much of the record that it starts to wear you down. The few features do inject some kind of life into the album but it comes at track 15 and 17 respectively, far too late to make any impact. This albums though show more and more how the focus has shifted from a quality album to more prolific output. More often than not it is the albums that take time and are cared for that are really successful musically, but those are becoming far less successful commercially. Something needs to happen to even this out, but since popular music has existed there has always been this gap. "Krazy but True" has some of the most lazy writing I have heard in a long time. Purely just saying words to have something to say rather than making any kind of point. I don't know if the world has grown beyond Future or if his refusal to adapt has just made him feel completely irrelevant. Future sounds a bit more energetic and involved in this record than He has in previous releases, but it still is barely above a sleepwalk. As it is though Future Hndrxx Presents: The WIZRD is just another future album with a the 1975 level title, nothing new, nothing exciting. You've heard all these songs before so feel free to skip this one, I'll let you know once Future actually makes something new.
