Is it R&B? Is it Indie? those are some of the questions that arise as you first hear "Powers" the opening track from the EP Sigh For Me by Lostboycrow. Though just an EP and only 18 minutes long the record tells the story of a relationship from start to finish. This is of course a concept that has quite the history and has been tried time and time again, but lostboycrow bring their own brand of funky indiepop into the mix and really shake things up. The songs on Sigh For Me are infectiously catchy with great moments to bob your head to or sing along. "Love Won't Sleep" has a really great breakdown influenced heavily by electronic music (as much of the record is) that has a super beat that you can't help but move to. The inclusion of Jon Waltz and Skizzy Mars as producers on the last two tracks of the record only further elevates what is already a super slick album. What Lostboycrow have captured here is that balance between the R&B and Indie scene, this music has such crossover potential it is staggering.

Sigh For Me really is one of the best EPs out this year and quite possibly of the best of the whole year. It just has that quality that keeps you coming back to it again and again. Each track builds on where the last left you off and only expands the genre bending ability these guys have. With this record it is really difficult to dive deep into it because for one it is short and two it really is just good. The songs feel like you have known them for a long time even when you listen for the very first. The production throughout the album is also top notch combining elements from all over to create an eclectic yet very approachable sound. It really seems like the group are able to bring in some top notch talent to collaborate with which can only mean bigger and better on the horizon. The best thing you can do for yourself is give Lostboycrow a shot because before long this band is going to reach to the highest heights of the music industry.
