The Young Wild are quite interesting. Not quite full pop, but also not all the way Americana the exist on some kind of middle ground that is ripe for stardom. Their songs first and foremost are totally infectious. Hand claps start the first track "Not a One" and driving percussion and sing-a-long vocals invite everyone to join in on the raucous party. The song, the album and the band as a whole seem like good clean fun and not in that Disney manufactured way but in a very organic effortless way. They loose a bit of that steam on the next track "Moment Goes" as they slide in to a more electropop sort of vibe, but each style of music they move in to they use such a light touch that they are able to change their sound without it feeling forced. Don't get me wrong for a lot of people that will sound like generic bright pop music but if you scratch the surface their is a great deal more going on here. "Ain't Got Nothing on Me" is where they get a bit more funky with a splashy piano riff. Their is some decent production on the EP, but the mix definitely needs quite a bit of work.

As a whole the production on the record does feel quite a bit Guitarband-ish. The band was recently signed to a label just before the release of this EP so in the future we can expect a much more robust and full sound. There is a hint of a "wall of sound" on most of the tracks but the musicianship and production is not quite there to achieve that goal. "Not a One" probably shows the band at their best and almost has an R5 type of vibe. Of course this is just the beginning for this band and there is sure to be more music down the line. All the Luck has it's faults but it has all the bones of a great pop record. Watch out for The Young Wild, because they may just be on your radio station very very soon.
