I don't know why I do it to myself, but I can't help but keep going back to the Iggy Azalea well. Maybe it's because of how spectacularly her star has fallen, how she never seems to get out of her own way or how she has dealt with the onslaught of hate directed her way. The thing to do in 2019 is cast off any doubters in your talent as "haters". "They just don't get it", "They're just trolls in their moms basement" or "Haters will hate" are some of the comforting sentiments artists tell themselves to avoid the fact that maybe their shit just sucks. This EP sucks. She is still obsessed with how she can possibly have haters and wanting to take them down with each and every song. This badass flexing personality she takes on feels so completely hollow from the tired Snow White/Cinderella mashup album cover to the basic beats. Perhaps because her writers list has gone away her lyrics also are sounding more and more mundane. Gone are the fast raps which got her in trouble for not being able to perform them live and in their place is some kind of hip hop empowerment anthems? On "The Girls" she vacillates from wanting to defend herself yet again while still trying bring all the ladies on board in the chorus. The chorus goes "It's the world against the girls these days, it's the girls against the girls these days" but then Iggy goes on to try and diss anyone who has dared to step to her It's disjointed and confused much like Iggy's recent work.

I don't know where the path of redemption for Iggy Azelia leads, or even where it starts. Everything she has tried has stalled or flat out failed yet she still doesn't attempt to shift her style at all. She continues feel slighted like the world did something to her rather than her recognizing her responsibility for any of it. It's frustrating to listen to, not just because it's bad (it is), but because it seems completely out of touch with any kind of reality. For someone who constant claims how "real" they are Azalea sure is connected with a whole lot of fakery. Don't listen to this album, I did and I regret it.
