Parade of Lights - Feeling Electric

Parade of Lights
Feeling Electric
2015

Parade of Lights are an LA native band that have been on the Indie Synth Pop scene for awhile now. They have released a couple stunning EPs but Feeling Electric is the first full album, and damn it is good. This version of indie synth is much more high energy and high rock. There is a loosening of 80s grip and something quite incredible is the result. Parade of Lights are able to combine electronic and analogue instruments in a really great way, it never feels hollow like some electronica can, nor does it feel overly stripped down. The combination of the lead singers great tone and the harmonization from both female and male members of the band really rounds out the sound. It's perfect for singing loud with the top down.

If there is one issue with this record it may be how anthemic it is. Because the songs are so catchy and built to sing along to the song writing can suffer. Most of the record seems to follow the same tropes and rhyme schemes which is necessarily a bad thing, though it does tend to stick out on an otherwise expertly crafted album. Parade of Lights are on the precipice of something really big and this album is just an introduction. Don't miss the boat on these guys. Run and get Feeling Electric.
