With how much I listen to Tourist it sometimes surprises me how little music He has put out. As a DJ He is out there making the rounds, but this album Everyday is only his second full release. A live album came out last year that was spectacular but before that we were stuck listening to U his album from 2016 over and over again. His version of atmospheric electronica is warm and comforting, with the first song "Awake" almost gently bringing you to life. Suddenly "Emily", the second track, clicks into gear and we are off again on a journey with Tourist. I kept checking the run time on this track, in hopes I had more time with it, more time to see where it would go and Tourist does not disappoint. This is give you chills music, inspiring and uplifting in a way that is wholly different from the rest of whats out there. This album feels far more emotional than his last. Where U seemed to be far more focused on dance, this record takes on a much wider swath of emotions. Every song contains these really delicate sentiments, feelings that are right on the surface, yet so incredibly beautiful. "Gin Under the Sink" has no real lyrics, just a glitchy female vocal, but it sounds like a song of lost love. He gets into less of the techno wormholes than He usually does, this album feels much more focused on creating a sound that is structured, but just not in the way you would expect. The album feels limitless, full of heart and feeling, but able to go absolutely anywhere.

"Apollo"'s opening is classically Tourist. He gives you this gentle opening with the hint of his former self in the distant background. It finally comes forward in this euphoric release as the song explodes into a dance bop. This songs begins a dance movement that is truly infectious. "Hearts" puts a simple beat on the floor, but then it expands from there into all kinds of new worlds. You expect for more techno centric electronica to eventually become monotonous but Tourist never allows that to happen. His songs shine from beginning to end. While U felt like a celebration of melancholy this album feels like a celebration al of it's own. However the music is never overblown, He picks his shots and sinks them evertime rather than throwing everything at the wall just to see what sticks. Everyday is another feather in Tourist's ever growing cap. We may have to wait a long time again before we see what's next, but with music this good that might be ok.
