Panama Wedding released their debut EP Parallel Play in June of 2014 and it was met with acclaim for it's blend of electropop and smooth style. Since then fans have been waiting for something new to sink their teeth into, and  Into Focus is that record. This EP departs slightly from it's predecessor in that it is more well rounded in terms of using analogue instruments. The bass drives most of the album especially "Halfway to Heaven" giving the electropop vibes a strong grounding. Parallel Play could possibly be accused of being a bit tinny but would not be able to say that about Into Focus. The lead single "Brand New Life" is probably the weakest track on the record with the rest really bringing the heat. Perhaps Panama Wedding just wanted to give us a teaser before they dropped the pleaser on us. "Into Focus" is one of those tracks where you can't help but get your hips loose and pump your hand in the air.

Panama Wedding have etched themselves a spot in the New York electropop scene and with this EP have positioned themselves to be one of the big players. When you learn the story of lead singer Peter Kirk quitting a Wall Street gig to throw it all away and start playing tunes it adds some new depth to the tale that is Panama Wedding. This EP really is not one to miss and don't be shocked when you start hearing it on playlist after playlist this fall.
