Kid Ink - Full Speed
Kid Ink
Full Speed
2015
Kid Ink can rap. Kid Ink is super talented. This is not his best album. With Full Speed Kid Ink seems to be making some kind of foray into the mediocre world of top 40 rap music, which unfortunately he misses on as well. There are so many flashes in the album like "Be Real" and "Cool Back" where you remember this is one bad ass artist who is not afraid to play with song structure and rhyming schemes. He boasts on those songs second to none, and reminds the listener where he is from and what he is about, but it stops there. I'm just not sure what exactly He is trying to do with the rest of the album or where it is going.
Talking about hitting the club or partying is not at all a bad thing when it is done well, on this album it just is not. I certainly don't see this as a downfall of Kid Ink, but rather a bump in the road on what is and will be a stellar career. I simply cannot get behind this one.
