Sia - 1000 Forms of Fear

Sia
1000 Forms of Fear

There is absolutely no denying the power that Sia's voice contains. Her vocals on Breathe Me and Zero 7 albums are incredible. In the past that same form did not seem to reach her personal albums. She existed as a better track singer than an artist in her own right. I believe she breaks the shit out of that stigma with this album "1000 Forms of Fear". Each song is different and interesting, her voice is so incredibly raw and the production has zero kitsch. Sia brings a a real artistic bend to what normally goes for pop music. Fire Meet Gasoline and Chandelier are two of the absolute best tracks on the album and are both musically interesting and still incredibly vocally powerful.

What I was most impressed with on the album is there seems to be a very intentional lack of auto tune. Sia sings almost like they went for one take keeping the cracks in her voice just because of how real it was. It really adds a powerful element to the record, and is something you just do not see anymore. "1000 Forms of Fear" is a stellar album from a stellar artist, and it is great to see Sia really coming into her element.
