Arty - Glorious

Arty
Glorious
2015

A wise man once said "You can't spell party without ARTY". This record however fins Arty exploring another side of EDM, one that is more rooted in making electronic tasteful or meaningful. "Braver Love" in particular with lines like "Braver/Than 20 million soldiers in the world" comes across as a bit overblown, but the drops and sound is going to make people dance like hell. That is where Arty is really in his lane, when he is able to get people moving and away from any concerns that they may have. His music is plain and simple fist pumping goodness. Even though this record does have a bit of that grandiose vibe that a lot of electronic artists take on, like this music is going to change the world. However Arty does do a few interesting things on Glorious, like bringing in a Spanish guitar on "Feel Your Love" and a great piano tone use on "Pink Roads". He also is not afriad to embrace the dance aspect of his music, he takes it on full force and brings the movement. It is quite interesting to see where Arty goes with his songs, He does not seemed constrained by the genre but instead tries to celebrate it.

Albums have always been an issue for DJs and producers. They are never really able to capture what they do live into a record and that is what Arty is not doing. Instead of giving you twelve tracks of his club bangers He wants to try some slow songs, try some strings and that is something that really does set him apart form the rest. As a debut record, which is quite shocking having heard so much from him in the past, Arty gives us something that just works well. You probably won't hear this album on the radio but be assured DJs across the land will be putting this into their sets for a good long while. Put this record on and get the pARTY started.
