If you are looking for a smash hit on the new AWOLNATION album Run you are going to be disappointed. Few songs will ever compare with the insane success of "Sail" but on this album that seems to be a good thing. AWOLNATION gets a whole lot weirder and a whole lot deeper on this album. The tones are dark and ominous then crisp and beautiful. Song after song could not be more different as if each belonged to someone else, but it really works. It's Nine Inch Nails meets Robert Delong meets Imagine Dragons if that sort of combination is even possible. "Windows" is possibly the most athemic track on the album and goes from that harsh electronic woomp to a beautiful soaring vocal chorus. It seems that AWOLNATION is showing us that they have only scratched the surface of where their are willing to go for their music. 

My favorite track on the album is "I am" it really shows every weapon in AWOLNATION's arsenal. It's a well written song and at the same time a powerful anthem filled with the scream at the top of your lungs hooks. The creativity on this record is incredible, it is something completely different yet it never alienates the listener with something strange. A really well done album by a band not afraid of taking risks for their art.
