Tuxedo - Tuxedo

You pop this on your turntable or in your 8-track, throw on your best polyester suit or bedazzled dress and just fall into the vibe. Tuxedo's self titled album is an interesting mixture of 70s funk, disco and R&B elements. This album is an absolute time warp, like someone traveled back to the 1970s cleaned up the audio and dropped it on iTunes. However as a piece of novelty it is quite fascinating because it takes itself completely serious while existing in a genre that has all but disappeared from any kind of scene. The over produced bass lines, synthy paino and splashy guitar rifts it is all right there and all very dated.

Tuxedo seems to exist on nostalgia alone, holding on to a bygone era when Studio 54 was still the spot to be. But, unfortunately it just does not play for today. While you can find yourself shaking your groove thang evey no and again it just is not enough to make this a top album. People made this album back in the day and they made it better than this, doing it today doesn't make any sense. Worth a listen but then put it back in a time capsule where it belongs
