Flor - Sounds EP

Flor
Sounds EP
2015

What a great surprise Flor was for me today. The Sounds EP is a great example of what exactly Indie Pop can and should be. The band blends a variety of synth and analogue instruments to create a sound that is becoming the norm in these types of bands, but they do it oh so well and make the genre something all their own. It's funny because it seems that bands today instead of rallying against the syth pop of the eighties are embracing it and elevating it to a level that just was not possible way back when. The vocals on this record are super clean, as is their whole sound. There is no room for fat on these songs which gives a super tight crisp feeling to the entire record.

If you only listen to one track off the album listen to "Heart", it really is a great top down blast in the car type of tune. What works best for Flor is their ability to go from the sing our loud pop to the slow down chill vibe without missing a beat or taking the listener out of the experience. I except big things from these guys in the future, get into it.
