Body Language - Grammar

Body Language
Grammar
2013

Grammar is the most recent full release from Body Language, from 2013 albeit. I came across Body Language because they are playing a show soon and I got tickets through jukely.com s Unlimited (if you live in the cities where Jukely has unlimited packages you should definitely get on it) and figured I better at least check them out before heading out to the show. Body Language has a fun funky sound that is mostly electronically based. The music however is light and breezy...very light. Even in places where it seems there should be some kind of edge there really is not. "What's the Point" sounds almost identical to Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie" but is missing that strong back beat. That for me is really where the album misses, if it got a little louder or a little bolder it would be a very different thing.

The slow songs on this record really drag, and where the songs are light they still have a very danceable vibe to them. Body Language is making music you can sway your hips to, just close your eyes and lean back, but nothing really more than that. Grammar is in no way a bad album, put it on in the background of your next party and it won't disappoint, just don't expect anyone to ask you "Who sings this?".
