Foxes - Glorious

Foxes
Glorious
2014

There will always be a place for female pop singers, it is one of the staples of popular music. But just as some country or electronic music becomes stale and bland so is the same for pop. Glorious by Foxes suffers from that very thing, ther just isn't anything to it. Sure Shea has a decent voice and the backing music is alright, but it stands really for nothing it doesn't take any kind of risk. Any number of female singers with a gaggle of producers could have produced the exact same album.

I'm not saying this to say the album is bad in any way, the music is pleasant and her voice is adequate, but that's it. There are certainly soaring moments where the tracks lift to a decent level however it's nothing I feel compelled to go back and listen to again. There are other females out there doing this better so I would much rather go and listen to them.
