DMX has releases a new album which is his first in many years. The cobwebs are very apparent in this new offering, which seems to be stuck in time. I've never doubted how good of a lyricist DMX is, he can clearly rap, but his content is so dated. He has made this exact album four or five times and he just continues to do so. My major beef with the album however is the beats. They are so generic, so typical DMX trying to be hard it is almost laughable at time.

There are a few tracks that stand out like "it's going down" but in the end this album belongs in 2002 and even then its commercial ability is debatable. We all know DMX so his gangster attitude in the songs seems so unauthentic. If you are looking for a great rap album this year I would avoid DMX.
